The individual mind is imminent but not only in the body. It is imminent also in pathways and messages outside the body, and there is a larger mind of which the individual mind is only a sub-system. This larger mind is comparable to God and is perhaps what some people mean by God, but it is still imminent in the total interconnected social systems and planetary ecology.

Of the 200 million stars in the Milky Way galaxy, some—perhaps many—may have inhabited planets and spacefaring civilizations. If one such civilization intercepts Voyager and can understand these recorded contents, here is our message: This is a present from a small, distant world, a token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours. We hope someday, having solved the problems we face, to join a community of galactic civilizations. This record represents our hope and our determination and our goodwill in a vast and awesome universe.

    IN SYNDICATION

People are always worrying about the future, about the "Digital Age" and what it's gonna mean, but personally, I can't wait until the day when my life will be available for streamable, downloadable, podcasted and satellite uplinked 24 hours a goddamn day. Fuck it. As far as I know, this life might be all that I get so I want to get the most play out of it as I can. I want it syndicated, re-run, remastered, rereleased and remade into infinity. If finding out everything about everyone is winning at life, then being found out about by everyone is winning at death. And by everyone I mean everyone. In 1000 years I hope my stupid goddamn face is bouncing off of some catheaded alien's radar dish. In a million years when the earth's just a hair on a black holes ass, I hope this column is floating on a photon of light into the intergalatic ether, waiting for the beginning of the end of the beginning. But for now, I'm cool with just being on Myspace or whatever. Comment me, man.

As long as you think you have something to renounce, you are lost. Not to think of money and the necessities of life is an illness. It is a perversion to deny yourself the basic needs of life. You think that through a self-imposed asceticism you will increase your awareness and then be able to use that awareness to be happy. No chance. You will be peaceful when all your ideas about awareness are dropped and you begin to function like a computer. You must be a machine, function automatically in this world, never questioning your actions before, during, or after they occur.

    Solve For X
Understanding of the self only arises in relationship, in watching yourself in relationship to people, ideas, and things; to trees, the earth, and the world around you and within you. Relationship is the mirror in which the self is revealed. Without self-knowledge there is no basis for right thought and action.

Begin where you are. Read every word, every phrase, every paragraph of the mind, as it operates through thought.
